Ph.D. in Philology, folklorist and ethnologist. Since 2002, Iryna has been working at the Department of Ukrainian and Foreign Folklore Studies at the Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2023, she became a researcher at the Archives Department of the Finnish Literary Society. She is the author and compiler of the collection of laments “Lamentations” (2012) and the publication “Kolesa F. M. Renewal of Ukrainian Ethnography and Folklore in the Western Regions of the Ukrainian SSR. Correspondence of F. Kolessa and M. Azadovskyi” (2011), the monograph “Ukrainian Lamentations: Anthropology of Tradition, Poetics of the Text” (2014), more than two hundred articles and reviews of oral folk tradition published in 12 countries, as well as more than 250 encyclopaedic articles in “The Ukrainian Folklore Encyclopedia” (Kyiv, 2019) and “Ukrainian Slavic Folklore Studies: An Encyclopaedic Dictionary” (Kyiv, 2019). She is a co-editor of “The Ukrainian Folk Dumas in Five Volumes”, volume 2 (Kyiv, 2019). She has participated in many international conferences.
