dr. hab., professor and researcher of the ethnic and cultural history of the Greeks of the Azov region, as well as other ethnic groups of the region. Specialist in the history of Mariupol and the gastronomic culture of the Mariupol Greeks. Her doctoral thesis is “Ethnic Specificity of the Greeks of the Ukrainian Azov Region”. Her habilitation is “The Greeks of the Azov Region: Ethnonational Processes and the Transformation of Traditional Culture.” In 1996–2001 and 2006–2012, she was the dean of the Faculty of History of the Mariupol State University, Visiting Professor at the International Hellenistic University (International Hellenic University, Greek Republic, Thessaloniki) and Visiting Professor at the Ionian University (Greek Republic, Corfu). Since 2017, she has been a professor at the Donetsk National Medical University. From 2022 she is a Visiting Researcher at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies Foundation of Research and Technology (Republic of Greece, island of Crete, Rethymno) and Professor at the National Aviation University in Kyiv (since 2023, part-time). Prof. Ponomaryova has participated in a number of research, cultural, and educational projects. She is the author of 138 publications
