PhD in History, Deputy Director for Research at the State Research Centre for the Protection of Cultural Heritage from Technological Disasters in Kyiv. He worked at the Ukrainian Ethnological Centre of the Rylsky Institute of Art History, Folklore, and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In 2007, he defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled “Folk Meteorology of Ukrainians of Central Polissia in the Late Nineteenth and Early Twenty-first Centuries”. He is a researcher of the traditional culture of the Ukrainian Polissya region, e.g. traditional meteorology, metrology, and astronomy of Ukrainians. He also studied the origin, culture, and everyday life of the Ukrainian gentry (shliachta). For many years, he conducted his fieldwork in ethnographic expeditions to various regions of Ukraine. Lecturer in history at the Professional College of the KROK University (Kyiv). Chairman of the jury of the Ukrainian competition for the defence of research papers by students – members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
