The workshop “Ukrainian Scholars and Artists at War” aims to reflect on the impact of the three years of the Russian full-scale invasion on Ukrainian scholars and artists. This workshop is thought of as a networking and thoughts exchanging event, where scholars, artists and activists gather to discuss two important issues, science and art in times of the Russian war against Ukraine. Spanning two days, the workshop focuses on the challenges and contributions of Ukrainian intellectuals and creatives displaced by war.

Day 1 will discuss the experiences of scholars, with discussions on the impact of war on academic careers and will examine the roles that scientists play during wartime.

Day 2 will focus on artists, exploring challenges and opportunities they faced as well as how artistic communities mobilize in support of their country. The event aims to foster dialogue on the vital contributions of both scholars and artists in shaping the intellectual and cultural responses to war, while offering participants opportunities to collaborate and share ideas.
