26 червня відбулась презентація проєкту Центру міської історії “Голоси Євромайдану у глобальних студіях протестів та солідарності”.
Завданням проєкту було перекласти на англійську мову та удоступнити матеріали усноісторичної бази даних “Особисті хронології Євромайдану” на ресурсі Міського медіаархіву Центру міської історії.
База даних “Особисті хронології Євромайдану” створена на основі колекції усноісторичних інтерв’ю “Голоси супротиву і надії” (близько 100 інтерв’ю).
Формування усноісторичної колекції розпочалось у 2013 році кілька тижнів після того, коли люди вийшли на вулиці по всій Україні, протестуючи рішенню непідписання Угоди про Асоціацію між Україною і Європейським Союзом задля тісніших політичних і економічних зв’язків з Росією та акту брутального розгону та побиття учасників перших протестів у Києві.
Ця колекція має унікальний потенціал покращити розуміння індивідуального у протестах Євромайдану — переконання, погляди, мотиви й функції окремих людей — адже ці категорії зазвичай губляться в аналізах протестів як колективної дії.
Проєкт реалізується у рамках Програми підтримки українських студій ім. Лисяка-Рудницького Українського інституту та Фонду “Демократичні ініціативи імені Ілька Кучеріва” за фінансової підтримки Міжнародного фонду “Відродження”.
On June 26, the Center for Urban History presented the project “The Voices of Euromaidan in Global Studies of Protest and Solidarity.”
Our task was to translate the collection into English and make available the materials of the oral history database “Intimate Chronologies of the Euromaidan” on the website of the Urban Media Archive of the Center for Urban History.
The database “Intimate Chronologies of the Euromaidan” was created on the basis of the collection of oral history interviews “Voices of Resistance and Hope” (about 100 interviews).
The formation of this collection began in 2013; a few weeks after people across all of Ukraine came to the streets to protest the decision not to sign the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement in favor of closer political and economic relations with Russia and to protest the brutal dispersal and beating of the first protesters in Kyiv.
This collection has a unique potential to better our understanding of the individual at the Euromaidan protests – their beliefs, opinions, motives, and roles – as those categories usually get lost within analyses of the Euromaidan protests as a collective action.
This project is realized within the framework of the Ukrainian Institute as part of the Lysiak-Rudnytskyi Ukrainian Studies Support Program and the Ilko Kucheriv “Democratic Initiatives” Foundation with the financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
